The Dickson Store Museum is located 31 km west of Innisfail on Highway 54 to Spruce View, then 3.2 km south. The museum is open from mid-May to the Labour Day weekend, and then on weekends until the first weekend in October. The museum is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Off-season tours can be arranged by appointment. The governing authority is the Dickson Store Museum Society. There is no admission fee though donations are greatly appreciated.

The collection at the Dickson Store Museum includes a general store restored to the 1930's with a complete display of goods and artifacts. The family living quarters have also been restored to the 1930's with a kitchen, pantry, utility room, bedroom, and living room. There are trained interpreters on site for guided tours, a picnic area, a gift shop, ice cream, and old fashioned candy. The museum celebrates Dickson Days in July, Teddy Bear Picnic in August, Harvest Fest in October and "Julestue", which is a Christmas bazaar held in November.

The museum also offers high school and junior high projects in social studies, art, English, drama, tourism, marketing and advertising. Research topics include homesteading, immigration, the Danish cultural influence, community history, and marketing and advertising in the early 1900's. Tours for special needs groups can be developed with our Senior Interpreter.
