Wetaskiwin and District Museum

Program Title: The Role of Family Members in the Past

Category: Family and self

Program Keywords: pioneer life, children's chores

Grade Levels: Grade 1

Program Outline: Discover the contributions each member of the family made on the pioneer homestead. Participate in pioneer family chores, i.e. wash day, butter-making.

Program Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours

Cost of Program: $0.50 per student for basic tour, an additional $0.50 per student if a special event, such as ice-cream making, butter-making or candy store is ordered. Supervisors and adults are free.

Maximum Group Size: 30

Adult/Student Ratio: Approximately 6 students with each tour guide, accompanied by a teacher or supervisor.

Program Materials: All materials provided

Pre/Post Trip Materials: Museum "Passport to the Past" is given to each student.

Booking Requirements: Book 2 weeks in advance. 2 day notification on any cancellations is required.
