Law and Justice Youth Heritage Project
Participating Schools
As you can see from some of
the other projects on this web site, we have experience working with schools to
deliver heritage learning, but we need the
help and energy of interested schools and educators to keep up the momentum of
our work. For the Youth Justice project, The
World We Want, the Heritage Community Foundation
is actively looking for
teachers and students as partners in the project. Once we have selected our
partners, we will update the site to explain their programs.
Heritage, learning and teaching are the essence of what we
provide at the Foundation. We are always looking for new ways to bring heritage
to the mainstream, and the development of a law-related education package for
Alberta classrooms is one of the ways that we integrate heritage, new media and
contemporary issues into our programs. We encourage interested schools and
teachers to apply for funding for The World We Want
project, though not everyone who applies will receive funding. Phase One of this
project is specifically looking for partners in Northern Alberta, but we
encourage schools in other parts of Alberta to develop their own projects.
If you are interested in the The
World We Want, but are unsure about or unable to commit to adding this
project to your class plans, we encourage you to use this web site to increase
your own knowledge about heritage, experiential learning, law-related education and the
legal
history of Alberta.
